Hackney Hockney #Ha_Ho_art

An exciting vibrant art exhibition opened in Violet Town on Friday the 8th December 2017. The exhibition is a collection of works by artist Hackney Hockney. Vibrant, beautiful and sensual art which is formed by a secret (hidden) narrative, innuendo and quest for fun! The ‘HA HO’ logo (which is derived from the first two letters of Hackney & Hockney) are on the paintings, to encourage them to be viewed with a sense of humor. Hackney Hockney formerly known as Chris Duffy was born in the Melbourne suburb of Footscray in 1966, was educated and lived in Hackney London UK from 1970-1988. When Chris returned to Australia he completed first year Associate Diploma Visual Arts (fine Art) Wangaratta TAFE (Benalla campus) in 1996 then graduated with honors, B.V.A fine Art at La Trobe university Bendigo 1997 – 1999.

Some career highlights to date include being the Winner of 2001 Smorgon Steel Williamstown Contemporary Art Prize, 2007 Florence Biennale (Italy) Manager at Az Is Art Gallery Portarlington Victoria from 2009 -2011, Broken River Dreaming mural (with 151 school children) Benalla 1997, commission of thirty-five drawings for the Fosters 2000 Olympic Games stadium suites. A six-month artist residency at a legal brothel in Melbourne (Top of the Town) & 2 large scale murals at Saints & Sailors in Portarlington Victoria. Most recently a large-scale mural in Hastings/St Leonards on Sea in the UK and currently commissioned by the Bendigo Council to create a public mural and exhibition at the Capital Theatre. Hackney Hockney’s art work is in collections and has gallery representations in Australia, UK, USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, France & Vietnam. He currently resides between Bendigo Australia & St Leonards On Sea East Sussex UK.

This will be the first exhibition at bush gatherings located at 208 High Street Violet Town. The exhibition will be open until mid-January and the artworks are not only fun, exciting and vibrant but also affordable.
