Violet Towns Tim Gallagher will be our Artist for the month of July. His exhibition is called The Anthropocene and will feature a collection of works which were part of a solo exhibition held at the West Gippsland Arts Centre 'We all live near Pompeii', an incomplete collection of thoughts about time and things that have happened. The Anthropocene is a term first proposed by Paul Crutzen, a Dutch Nobel Prize winning atmospheric chemist. This term recognises a new geological epoch from the time of the Industrial Revolution onwards, during which, human kind has begun to reshape the nature of our entire world.
Opening on July 6th at 6.30pm – 9pm and then the exhibition will be open from 11-3 on Saturday and Sunday and 11-3 Tuesday-Thursday until August 2nd 2018. Works are for sale but there is no pressure to buy. All are welcome and there is no entry fee.
